What Tests Are Needed Before Choosing A Cosmetic Packaging Cream Tube?

As one of the mainstay industries of fast-moving consumer goods, consumers have higher requirements for the safety of cosmetic packaging materials. Therefore, the testing of cosmetic packaging materials is particularly important.

The compatibility normally means the interaction between the packaging material and the content, including chemical compatibility, physical compatibility, and biological compatibility.

Chemically compatibility

Chemical incompatibility simply means that the chemical components in the packaging material have a chemical reaction with certain components in the content, which is manifested in packaging material or the content in the appearance , or changes in odor, and so on.

Physically compatibility

Physical incompatibility refers to the physical changes that occur between the packaging and content due to mutual influence, such as cracking, dissolution, adsorption, penetration, and so on.

Biological compatibility

Biological incompatibility refers to the migration of certain substances in plastic packaging into cosmetics content. It is directly based on the dissolution of harmful substances. And this is strictly regulated in the cosmetic hygiene regulations.

Test method for compatibility of cosmetic packaging products
In general, put the content into the cosmetic cream tube and place it in a constant temperature and humidity box at 40℃ and 75%RH for 4 weeks. The product shall not be discolored (including the printed content), ink/hot stamping layer/plating layer/spraying layer shall not fall off , Melting and other abnormalities. In other special circumstances, special tests are arranged.
